Hopefully someone can help? Got the above washer dryer that is not do anything apart from draining. No matter what program is selected the drun does not turn. Have turned by hand no problems ie physically ok but the machine will not turn the drum no matter what prog is requested(including drying).

Thanks

PS got a multimeter so any tests no probs

Ps it takes in water for around 10 seconds as well then sops taking in water and nothing else happens

check motor brushes.. you tube bosch motor brushes for guidence, good luck trying to get new ones in.. fiddly!

Pull the plug before accessing the appliance...

Got the new ones on order. Have temporaily plumbed in a spare Bosch washer only. This was a mission as it had been stored in the shed for 2 years and the outlet had gone solid with soap powder residue (only found out after plumbed in).

The old brushes were worn down to around 8mm on one side the other side had around 30mm left. Would this cause the symptoms I have.

Tks

New brushes come however what is in there has a separate spring that form part of the plastic housing where the bushes are held in place. Guess where the braid is spot welded onto the buzz bar inside the plastic housing I need to somehow take the spade of the connector dispose of the springs that come with the new brushes or something like that? Any one go any advice?

tks

You can't easily change the brushes on that motor, the correct way is to change the end frame of the motor with the brushes.Part no.496876.

"Easily" sounds like can be done somehow? Even if to effect a temporary repair rather than throw £55 at it only to find something else is wrong. Could I solder the braid to braid as a temporary measure?

Very easy just a solder job. If anything easier than the integral spring type as the spring can be rested on the side of the brush holder than re-assemble and the simply push the loaded spring back onto the brush. Looks easier than the other type where you need to stuff the spring back in the holder.

Not put machine back together yet but will of course report back.
