Bosch won't spin

Please help if you can. My 7ish year old Bosch WFF 2001 GB 01 washing machine does everything as normal except that the drum won't rotate. Dearly beloved has kindly changed the brushes, crossed fingers and then walked away in disgust when nothing changed ( muttering 'you'll have to get a man in')
