My jigsaw gave up the ghost today so had to find a replacement in a hurry. Apart from cheap DIY jigsaws the only one I could get over the counter was a BOSCH GST 2000 @ £113.

When I got back to the job I was doing and opened the box, no user manual.

Phoned Jewson and they could not find the manual nor did they have another GST 2000.

I have unsuccessfully searched Tinternet for a download able manual. Anyone out there know where I can look?

Have tried the BOSCH website to no avail.

It has some features (whistles and bells) that were not on my old on my old JS, I am not sure what one of them does.

What does the switch (above base palte) with the up arrow do?

Not certain but I think it alters the pressure on the rollers that the blade slides between.
With it switched off move the switch and watch the rollers move forward and backward a little.

Nope, did not move anything that I could see. It moves two stops up or down.

But it's only a Jigsaw according to thermo

Manuals are for dummies, anyone with a grain of mechanical savvy, can work out the functions in a trice.

iirc its the blower to remove the saw dust when your cutting.

According to the Bosch website it also has this Bosch part number GST 85 PBE

Thats what it does on mine, Silverline Laser Jigsaw.

Before you take the pi$$ I was desperate to finish a job one day and knew I would hardly use it again so went for a cheepy.
£15 in local hardware store but no instruction manual so girl said she would knock a fiver off. Gave me a slip of paper with the barcode and wrote £10. When I got to the till I thought the checkout girl might question me so I said the other girl said she would knock a fiver off as there were no instructions.
Checkout girl entered the barcode manually and then knocked another fiver off by mistake!
Couldn't get out quick enough!
