Botch plaster job - HELP!

Just had a media wall built and the whole room reskimmed (2 walls plasterboarded).

To say its a mess would be an understatement. Im fairly confident with a trowel but unsure how best to fix this. Pva and reskim with 2 coats or? Attatch a little pic to show how bad it is.
