I have a 10-year-old combi boiler in my kitchen which I would like to box in because it's quite ugly. I looked in the manual and found the following diagram. There is a warning in the Service Clearances section that I should "...not restrict this space with the addition of cupboards, shelves etc. next to the boiler". The overheating warning seems to refer only to the sides of the boiler (i.e. "next to"), rather than the front. 1. Have I correctly understood? 2. It would be hard to box in the boiler if I had to leave >600mm in front - I'm guessing that the 600mm refers to the space needed to service the boiler, rather than there being an overheating issue if I put the front <600mm? If I install a door on the front, does that solve the problem?
