I believe this is the correct forum lket me know if not.

Boxing in 4 water pipes in the corner of a room using wooden batens and plasterboard and I'm not sure how to do the corner.
Do you just butt the plasterboard together and nail onto the supports?
If so wouldnt this leave the corner very weak and vulnerable to damage?

What would be the best way to do this?

Hope I make sense

Can you give us some idea of dimension for the box?

floor to ceiling (2.4m)
150mm x 300mm roughly

two sides are the original corner (plastered blockwork)

If I were doing it, I would measure up so as to cover the pipework, then make up the box using 12mm ply, glued and panel pinned down the corner. The box can then be fixed to the walls with gripfill.

JD's solution sounds good to me, the only thing I would do slightly differently is fit wooden blocks to the wall and fix the ply to this instead of the gripfil. Only because I wouldn't trusts the gripfil with all of the expansion (assuming your covering ch pipes). You can then fill the gaps with caulk.

Dont, forget to scribe the ply to the walls for a nice fit, unless you're going to tile over it.

yep just screw into the supports with regards to the corners use a thin coat corner bead and skim the boards if you don't want to skim it then use joint taping compound and feather it into the board
