Im shortly resealing the awning rail on my caravan, most people have bought stainless steel screws for this, but...

I have been given a good quantity on brass screws (proper brass, not electroplated) is there any reason why these would not be fine, the awning rails and body panels of the caravan are aluminium.

thanks

Far better to go for stainless...by the time you can get enough purchase on the brass ones, the head will probably shear off.
John :)

Brass and aluminium will react with one another if they are somewhere damp.

The bond this forms is far worse than a rusted in steel screw.

Go for stainless.

Stainless, but isolate it from the aluminium with a plastic washer. under a normal washer ;)
