brass bath trap connection

hi,
just about to install new bath, the waste is the pop up type and the p trap is made from brass with a small length of brass pipe on the outlet. would you suggest just using a waste compression fitting to connect the outlet on the trap to the plastic waste pipe .
below is a link to a similar trap but does not have the pop up waste.

just stick the plastick waste pipe straight into the trap..
