I want to hide a water butt in the bottom of a wooden planter which I built, underneath the plants. The problem is tapping the water. I would like a brass tap to go through the planter and into the plastic tub within but I need to find a suitably long tap to go through the 2.5 cm of wood. How do I then seal the tap into the wall of tub so that it can't leak? What bits and peices do I need?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi Merlin; that's great, thanks! But what's the name of the first peice and also, how do I connect them all together? Thanks a lot!

Edit: Aha! Using Google's new reverse image search function, I've found that it's a tank connector! Thanks a bunch! I still wonder how they connect but perhaps the Screwfix staff can advise.

the tap should have a nut and olive with it, all you need is a spanner
