I am proposing to replace four individual, ceramic, 300mm x 300mm, floor tiles on the conservatory floor because of hairline cracks. Although cracked, they are very firmly fixed (tile cement onto a concrete slab). The joint grout is as ‘hard as iron’. I am worried about two things (at least!):
1. Unintentionally damaging surrounding good tiles (i.e. Is there a technique for getting out individual tiles with no collateral damage?)
2. Difficulty of getting an even surface on which to lay replacement tiles (i.e. The old cement may also be 'hard as iron'!)
Any advice would be much appreciated.
