Brick or Blocks - Extension

Hi, in a detached house, the extension will create a small alleyway between our house and our neighbours. About 800mm roughly.

Does the entire thing need to be brick? Or can it be blocks where it won't be visible, I can't think of a reason why not other than BC or planning to say computer says no.

It's the performance of the components that matters. So some blocks and some bricks will do, some wont. As will other wall designs such as timber frames.
