I am wanting to brick up a garage door way in a old brick built garage. It's solid brick walls with a slate roof and at least 70 years old.

Digging down I have found what seems to be 2 stone lintels below the door area with what seems to be broken brick below. They go under the existing brickwork removing them doesnt seem possible.

Would this be suitable to build straight onto? Solid brick wall which will be tied into the existing brickwork either side.

Thanks

Put some expanded metal (stainless) into the first, third and sixth bed joint, and lap this into the existing jambs 100mm or so.
