Have had real probs with our 1993 worcester 240 combi RSF boiler. Have been let down by known engineers and can't afford to pay top whack prices. Not had hot water now for weeks but heating was working fine. Did some research and found out about the diverter valve and the kit you could buy and yesterday fitted a new diaphragm (the old one was very worn and split) and spindle and hey presto had lots of lovely hot water and heating last night. Sadly woke up this morning and boiler won't fire up at all...not even any spark. Please for complete novices is this connected to us changing the diverter valve kit or is it something new entirely? Also any idea where we can get a manual for this system. No manual left by previous owners of house.

take the cover off the boiler and see if it's overheated. look for the little red reset button on top of the control panel.

Hiyas.......Thanks for replying so quickly........yes have tried that already. The little red button has not even popped up to need repressing but have tried it anyway

sorry to state the obvious but do you have sufficient system pressure?

Ooops you were right.......apparently, I hadn't been told but the red button did pop up once. We have now cleaned out the overheat thermostat and ensured good contact put it back together and hey presto boiler ignited )

Fingers crossed it doesn't overheat again and thanks very much for taking the time to reply.

Hello....I have to say please don't apologise......We are such complete novices that were terrified of hefty bills and nothing could have been stating the obvious for us <smile>

If it overheats again I wil probably come running back to you for more help anyway.

Yes water pressure is fine now at 1½ have just confirmed so hopefully no leaks anywhere either.

Many thanks again......ally
