DHW flow switch
If I'm not mistaken these are the ones that some were re-badged and sold as a baxi genesis. They were notorious for the aforementioned flow switch

Thanks. Being a person of zero boiler knowledge, are these flow switches easy to fit and if so any tips, no matter how obvious
Just to confirm my previous; the boiler, which is 6 yrs old is running normal apart from the missing hot water. It does not ignite at all when tap is turned on.

Hi,

The SE didn't have flow switches, but a diverter valve with diapragm assembly.

The is a small mushroom head which actuate's a microswitch on this valve assembly. Sometimes the diapragm wears and this doesn't cause enough travel to operate the switch. You should be able to visually check this by simply removing the outer case. The diverter is to the right hand side above here the 15mm cold water inlet enters the boiler (this is the 4th pipe from the left) It is shaped like a flatish looking ball about the size of an orange?

Hi,

The blue circle is the diverter valve. The mushroom head which actuates the microswitch is circled in red. Get someone to run a hot tap while you watch for this to move. If it contacts the microswitch you should hear it click. if not then carefully push the microswitch down with screwdriver and you should see the boiler fire (or attempt too)

Hi Sam,
Hot water tap turned on which had no affect, no clicking or ignition. Followed instructions by pushing microswitch which did ignite boiler, however still no hot water.
When I did this and the boiler ignited fine but all the temperature lights went out. (not sure if thats normal)

Any more tips welcome

Cheers
Paul.
