British Standards for free !

Hello, as I have seen the british standards mentioned in several threads, did you all know that you can download them for free from BSI by logging onto your library website & using your membership number.

This should work on many libraries & enables you to download the BS regs
although printing is turned off (easy to turn back on though).

if you mean the library website run by my county, I can't find any on

I have a log-on to it.

Search your local library for "british standards" to find it.

Thanks this is a top tip we have all been complaining for years that they should be in the public domain.

Now I just have to register with my library.

As I said, search for it on the lbrary website.
Its not widley advertised.

I have loads of stds, fire alarm, emergency lighting etc.

Also note that most ISO stds are mirrored as BS ones too.

Unfortunately, it's not available to all libraries. I contacted mine and they gave me a link where you can see whether your library has it or not.

Looks like I shall have to join Stratford library, though I am domiciled in Scarborough, as I am working in Hackney and need access to British Standards to do my work safely.
