Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me. We have a brittony combi SE boiler.
When you turn the hot tap on HW comes out fine however after about 15 seconds the boiler starts to make a noise similar to light aircraft coming over head. The noise is quite loud. The boiler then stops heating HW for a few seconds and then resumes heating the HW and again the noise starts again and the cyle repeats until hot tap is shut off. The CH seems to work ok.
Is it possible there is a build up scale in the primary heat exchanger?
Or is it more likley its a build up of scale in the secondary heat exchanger.
I was thinking of adding some X200 noise reducer which apparently reduces scale to try and help this. However if the secondary heat exchanger is blocked on HW side I take it this wont help?
The system is old and probably has sludge in it too. I did think about putting some x400 in before the x200 do you recommend this?
Cheers
Dave
