Hi, I have a broken small double glazing unit, is it fairly easy to replace it myself ?. The only thing I’m unsure of is getting out the 4 beads, how are they held in ? Thanks , Mike

Thanks for your reply
Yes it is upvc
It is an external window and the external pane is broken
There are 4 mitred beads holding it in, on the inside of course,
I am just wondering how these come out is there nothing visible holding them

ah ok, well you need a thin blade like a paint scraper -push it down (bet bead and frame or sash if opener, not against glass) near the middle of the longest bead -the bead should pop out.

a deglazing chisel looks like this

once youve one out the others should come out easier.

I asked whether internal or external beading as if externally beaded, there may be security foam tape holding glass in.
