brown sludge coming from hot taps

quite suddenly, a lot of fine sandy dark brown matter is coming out of the hot taps, and the water is a little discoloured also; it has been like this for 3 days; any ideas anybody ?, please

Have you a Combi boiler or gravity fed system? If it is the latter then you may have pin holes in the internal coil in the hot water cylinder?
