I can not open some site pages on the internet and have been informed that my " browser setting" needs resetting. How do I do this?

Please help us out.

We can't see your machine, so we don't know:

What type of machine it is.
What operating system you are using.
Which browser.
Which sites you can't access.
What messages you have been receiving.
Who or what informed you.
What type of internet connection.
If you have a firewall, anti virus software or anti spyware applications.

The more information we have, the more likely it is that we can help you

What type of machine it is. – Fujitsu/Siemens Euroline
What operating system you are using. – XP Home
Which browser. - IE 6
Which sites you can't access. – ING internet bank login page ( one example)
What messages you have been receiving. – no message page does not open
Who or what informed you. –ING
What type of internet connection. - Broadband
If you have a firewall, anti virus software or anti spyware applications.- Mcaffee

Some 3rd party products (Norton Internet Security for example) can cause connection problems with secure sites. Have you tried temporarily switching off Mcafee as this is likely to be an issue if not configured properly (the firewall bit of it anyway).

IE6 should work fine with defaults. One thing to check in IE is the security level, which is accessed from Tools>Internet Options and then click the security tab. Click the default level button to restore defaults.
