Doing my DIS next month ,carryed out some tests today and filling out minor works for my education before i start the course i want to be up there as much as i can.

But cant find BS number?

Where are you looking for the number - it should be with the rest of the BS numbers in the regs....

It is BS EN 60898.

Older mcb's have BS3871.

Units usually have number printed or embossed on them, sometimes on the front, sometimes on the side, very occasionally on the back.

Thanks for that,

strange its not written on there anywhere. I know most breakers do have them written on.

cheers mst

If it's a Hager & does not have number on it anywhere, it may be a 3871.

yea i guess that would be what i would have to put on the ticket.

thanks again

P>S it would be so much more usefull if they put that on the breaker.

got to try and find the RCD type now  :)

Depends on how old the breaker is as to which BS it was manufactured to.

RCD's. That depends too, on age & type of the device.

Choose from BS4293, BS7288, BS EN 61008 or BS EN 61009.

Knitemare....

how would you know what to put on the ticket if you didnt know the age or it not being written on the breaker?

C'mon!

What else can you put?

U/K, or unknown.

What do you put on an EIC where you don't know the supply fuse type or rating?

Unknown, of course!

ahh good,

i thought that might be the case. din-no will be put on my test form :D ;)

thanks
