It seems there is a pyramid which is designed to relay all infra-red from all remotes. However when I tried to buy one my local satellite retailer said they had stopped selling them as they were so much trouble. I did not press for more details.
However my Digi-eye with Sky seems to have it's moods and one day it will work A1 next time it fails. Wait 10 minutes and try again it works A1 again. I will guess some EMC problem and if you gets that on a dedicated system I expect it must be worse with a system with no filters.
