I'm working for a company who does a lot central heating jobs, but the problem is that we're always having to measure the rooms, write it down, then go back to the office to get on-line before we can work out the BTUs for a room. What I've been asked to look into and try download (if possible) is a BTU calculator that can just be used on my laptop when I'm out pricing up for jobs and wont require me to have an internet connection to use it. Is there such a thing and if so can someone please let me know where to get it.

Cheers

you can download stelrad starts onto your laptop to take it about with you, TBH it is a bit of a nuicance to use (prob just me not taking enough time to get used to it) best thing by far is a mears calculator (again prob because i have taken the time to get used to it) i usually go round the house measureing the rooms and noting options for rad positions and obstacles limiting where the rad can go (sockets, furniture etc) then do the full measure up at the office/home i dont like to take too long in he punters house, once measured up i get a price then contact them, if you want to be really quick (and rough!!) measure the room in feet, then calculate LxBxHx5 which will give you BTU's divide by 3412 to get Kw's
