We have a Bungalow built in 1948 with solid walls and concrete floors. Our DPC is about 1 metre above the road level. We had a new DPC injected in 2006 and the house rendered in 2007.
Before the render/DPC injection a damp patch used to appear on the external brick work and we had a large area of damp/black patches on the inside wall. Since the DPC the size of these patches have decreased significantly but the internal paintwork still bubbles off the wall and grows black mould in the winter months.
The paint on the external wall in the same corner bubbles too.
Questions:
Could this be caused by water pipes - not sure where they enter the house - how do we find out?
Any other ideas - we are desperate to get this problem sorted.
Will take some photos and upload later.
