Hi all,

I need a budget jig (only likely to do dozen cuts) and have identified these as looking promising having read around etc.

1) Unika 616 £44 @ Toolstation

2) Topform 700 £34

I cannot really afford to go any higher so better specs are out of the question. I dont want to hire either. Anyone have any suggests/experience of either/can recommend which to go for?

Cheers

Have you checked eBay? I found a an ex diy-er chap selling a jig, 1/2" router, all with very light use.

Following up for the benefit of future readers.

Opted for the Unika Budget Jig as linked above.

Ended up buying 1/2 inch router, Erbauer ERB380ROU on offer for £99.99 (http://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-erb380rou-2100w-router-230-240v/81664) which was used with a Freud straight cutting bit.

Long cuts were done with a circular saw using 190mm Freud Pro blade.

All worked excellently.

Cannot comment on long term durability (only done 5 joint cuts and 10 bolt holes) but work well for those. See my other thread for other tools used
