I was reading about builders bog on another post. And it was being suggested as a filler to build up a gap in some skirting.

I have changed some doors around and was wondering if it would be suitable to fill the old hinge cutouts and latch cut outs.

I like the idea it seems to be drillable after incase I ever want to revert back.

The only thing is I have never heard of it before and even google doesn't show it at any retailer / wholesaler that I am familiar with.

Is Builders Bog a slang name for something else?

Does anyone know where I could get it from?

Or is there another similar product that would do the job I am trying to do?

Thanks in advance.

Rob

BUILDERS BOG is the name of an actual product range available Down Under which has various types and uses. I'd heard of it but never really knew what it was until I read the same thread as you earlier. I don't know of a similar range available to buy in this country but imagine they are pretty similar to our various two part fillers.

You could use one of the many wood fillers around, or cut in a shim of timber glued and pinned then sand smooth.

As joinerjohn implies, I think the use of car type body fillers can play a huge role here......mix as much or as little as you want, cures for sanding in 20 minutes and is as smooth as can be......takes all types of paint, too.
Much better than the Polyfilla stuff.
