Hi all,

after a bit of advice,

We live in a terraced house (middle one of 3) where one of the neighbours has had an extension completed before we moved in.

We wish to build an exentsion also, however their extension has been built right up our wall i.e. it is snug. They also have placed their boiler extraction and overflow pipes on this wall, so effectively they are fitted onto our land.

Does anyone know where i stand with this, and how i would go about completing my own extension when such things are in place.

Thanks

Anything projecting across the property boundary is likely to be causing a trespass, and you can require its removal.

Flue gases are additionally likely to be casing a "statutory nuisance" if they emit over your boundary and affect your use of your property, and the local councils environmental health dept will deal with this.

You can just go ahead and build your extension and the neighbours will have to relocate the flue and overflow.

Obviously its best to talk to the neighbour about this first!
