This relates to a house I have moved from but the issue still bugs me .
The neighbours needed to move the inspection chamber on their property that our toilet drain served ie lateral drain, for their extention.
The drain itself ran in almost a horizontal line of about 1m over the boundary into their drain. Although they had paid the £350 to the water company they hadn't got an actual plan at the time for the new drainage.
I couldn't see how our drain could connect to the new system without the angle being changed on our side.
Does the WC have authority to order a new pipe at a different angle on our side??? If so would the contractor have to dig up our path to lay the new drain, or can it be 'moled' from next door???
I just wondered if they are unable to work with the existing pipe direction, how does it work in practice if you need to change a drain on a neighbours property???
