I want to build a shower on the ground floor of a house, which has a floor made of concrete beams and blocks. Underneath is just a void. I don't want to use a shower tray. Can I use as a base impermeable concrete mix reinforced with galvanized wire (chicken wire for example)? And then use good quality tile cement used for tiling swimming pools. I can only find plastic shower traps. Are these OK to use?
The problem is the house is in Spain and local Spanish plumbers build a shower tray out of sheet lead. As my Spanish is poor I want to use simple materials that will do the job.
