Bulbs keep blowing on electric fire? please help my mom

Evening all

We bought an electric fire 2 months a go, blew a bulb, put a new one in yesterday (25W) and it has just blown again it was only on for 3 hours

Anyway the bulb is a 25W standard bayonet fitting (There is a sticker on the fire that says "MUST ONLY BE FITTED WITH A 25W BULB") yet the bulb holder has a sticker saying "max 40W"

The fire was brand new from homebase.

What should i do? Cheers

The bulbs are normally a special able to stand the extra heat of the fire
Think called an appliance bulb used also in ovens

Contact Homebase tomorrow.
The holder maybe rated 40 watt, but for other reasons,maybe due to the cove,r they recomend maximum 25 watt.

is that a question? its a modern one with a white bulb not the old type.

What brand are they? What voltage rating?

Hi, they are made by Lohuis and voltage rating of 240-250v.

buy a decent quality lamp and try again, if it still blows, take it back its under warranty.
