There is a bulge at the back of our real wooden work top which is above the dishwasher in our new kitchen..Weve had the new worktop changed once but now the new one has started to bulge in the same place at the back within a few days. The dishwasher is new and the makers NEF have tested the water temperature and its ok at 55 degrees. What is causing the problem.anyone got any bright ideas? Please help Kay's dilema.

"REAL WOOD" !!! It sounds like moisture from the dishwasher is getting into the wood and expanding it. Was any care taken to provide for expansion of the wood top ? Quality furniture and floors made of wood make provisions for expansion. With moisture so close to the top that has the problem I would suspect that the top is tied down to the front of the dishwasher so that it cannot move foreward ...... thus bucks up at the wall.

Good luck !!!

Following on from the previous post, remove the work top (sorry it needs a new one) then run your dishwasher and see if there is any hot areas or steam. That will be why your work top bows, then let us know what you find.
