There was a clip about bull fighting, and as you've guessed the bull won big style

What do you think of B,F ? me personally i think it's disgusting and should be banned, but when i hear stories when the bull gives as good as it gets it makes me feel great, ( and it's not because my birth sign is taurus the bull ) ;)

i think the bull only had 15 minutes of "FAME".It would have ended up as dog meat just like the rest of them :(

ban-all-bullfights

its part of some cultures, as some would say, smoking in pubs is part of our culture, ban it happily!

They should keep bull fighting but just even it up a little

It should be 1 to 1 bull and matador

The matador can keep his sord but to make it more even his feet should be tied together.

Then it should be till the death, bull or matador.

And if the matador dies, they should feed the w****r to the bull.

I would pay to watch

it should be banned, the bull lost the fight in the end and I agree with slogger about hippo's they don't even have horns to defend them selves although they say that hippo's kill more people than sausages.

Where's my tinopener? I've got a can of worms here.

Just a thought, yes bull fighting may be cruel, but it doesn't happen in this country. Perhaps the view that let individual countries sort out their own affairs should be taken.

How about ritual slaughter that IS practiced in this country, should this be allowed? It started in other countries and has been brought here. Surely an animal being hung upside down and then having it's throat while being totally consious (I know that there are occurances in the humane slaughter process where the stunning process on occasions may not be fully effective but this is where work should be done to improve techniques) should be banned?

I am a farmer so I do know what happens and have visited slaughter houses - not pleasant but a realitity, but I come back to my earlier point are we better off sorting out what goes on in our country before condeming other ones??????? Otherwse we may all become George Bushes and start invading other countries - but that is a different point!!!!

david, I didnt realise that ritual slaughter took place here.
What and why?

Hey! David cruelty is cruelty what ever country your in.

get off my land  and give us a grant

Just did a quich search on Google and top of the list....

Quote from the Observer Sunday September 14, 2003

"...the Food Animal Welfare Council produced a report which claimed that halal and kosher methods of slaughtering animals were inhumane, and should be outlawed immediately. Animal welfare should not, it said, be sacrificed to religious freedom. Many commentators agreed; columnists wrote of their horror at animals 'writhing in agony' and 'gurgling in their own blood', and animal welfare campaigners came out in support of the FAWC report. "

and

"But what exactly is halal? For the most part, the definition is uncontroversial. The Koran stipulates that the animal must be well kept, fed and watered. It must be alive and uninjured. A religiously trained Muslim slaughterman using a very sharp knife must sever both arteries and trachea, while praying to Allah, and allow all the blood to drain from the body. The only problem is this: pure halal ritual slaughter prohibits stunning an animal before cutting its throat. It must be fully conscious until it bleeds to death. The Farm Animal Welfare Council's research found that cattle can take up to two minutes to die - 'and to say,' its chairwoman scoffs, 'that the animal doesn't suffer, is ridiculous.' "

Enough said.

Richardp - I agree that cruelty is cruelty wherever you are but lets get our own house in order first

so is it now illegal to kill animals this way or just the thought of many (me included know that I know) that it should be?
The quote said how it should be outlawed but was it?
