Hello

A handyman used easyfill to connect the previous wall to the plasterboard. He's left it a mess (please view the image)

How (if possible) can I fix it? Can I sand it using 120 grit sandpaper or would you recommended something else

I am open to buying products that you think might be helpful. I am based in the UK.

Easifill is extremely soft. If you sand the area with 120G you will probably rip through the surface of the emulsion and dig into the existing easifill.

As a professional decorator, I dread sanding walls filled with easifill.

It is not supposed to be used as a general filler, but it is cheap and easy to sand back, hence it is often used by people who don't understand its limitations.

That said, in your case, perhaps use a wide filling knife and apply more easifill over the existing paint work, and then sand back with 180 grit paper. Be advised that if you run your fingernail over it, it will puncture the paint though.

You could use a proper filler but if you try to sand it back, the sanding process will rip through the inferior easifill.
