Hi,

Was considering bunk beds for my kids but hate the idea of anything creaky. Also hate the idea of spending an absolute fortune on expensive ones....

So, I thought that I could build a nice sturdy frame from scaffolding:

Has anyone done this?
Are there any online guides (I can't find any through searching - only for double bed)?
Any idea the cost of something like this?

Thanks

How are you going to protect kids from all the sharp edges and the cold steel?

sometimes google really is duff - i thought there would be loads of examples

think i may have to be a pioneer in the field of scaffolding bunk-beds

(...sharp edges and cold steel....jeez... )

perhaps the answer is -------------

------------scaffolding is not a very useful material to make beds from

i have made several raised bunk bed style as well as well as floor standing normal beds
i also often make half bunks which will use 1 2 or even 3 walls as the supports
they are all made from wood and non off them squeak as they are well made

if its a wooden bunk bed place it in a corner get some wooden batons 2x1"[18x43mm] will do and secure the bed to the walls after tightening all bolts
if its fixed to one wall and it still squeaks it will more than likely need diagonal bracing

Get a portable tower and you can hire it out daytimes and weekends
