Just announced it's ok to kill burglers. Great news, too many do-gooders saying they have human rights.

I have a feeling our resident do gooders may disagree with you on this shaggy.

I'm sure they will, but Tony Martin got a lot of support and I think his appeal was influenced by that.

Dont upset kendor and richp. The world is a beautiful place to them where everyone is treated the same......even burglars

Ok, until the more hardened type comes 'tooled' up .... Or takes more to street crime. ... then of course the 'nutter' relatives may do a 'Nottingham' in revenge ....
I think they deserve all they get , but heaven knows where our govn is coming from putting out these 'something and nothing' statements.
Tis guidelines not law .... When does this mob ever bring in a solid law ? Tis always paper talk which then turns to 'pot of sh it' ... A whole pile of them are lawyers ... so why can they not get anything right ? Because they are bull sh it ting us, is probably why, no intention of bringing a popular law in anyway ---- A load of hot air -- newspaper columns and smoke.
Oops missed a bit here .. popular law is not necessarily good law -- how could any Govn sanction 'killing' a burglar ? or tresspasser ? Total nonsense from a bunch of wallies without a real job -- Tone does (bu##ers) it, all on his own !

Again old jasy speaks for me! when have i ever supported people like burglars? If the new rules have been interpreted correctly(ie the right to kill, which i doubt) then it could lead to a free for all with people taking the law into their own hands which is not a good thing.

This isn't about what we would like to do to them; it's about what we can get away with. It has now been officially stated that you can sleep with a loaded shotgun by your bed and blast them; have a knife under the pillow and stab them or smash their skull in with a pick-axe handle.
You must remember to say you felt intimidated and it's ok - no charges will be brought(quite right too).
Tony Martin made the mistake of shooting them as they were leaving and that is still not acceptable. There was another case where the burgler was captured, covered with petrol and set fire to. That also is still not acceptable.
It's interesting that despite the level of violent gun crime in the US the burglery rate is half what it is in the UK because they know there is a good chance of being shot and no questions asked.
Remember to say "YOU FELT INTIMIDATED"

Have I missed something. I thought that the final outcome was "No change to the law" after all. Didn't Tone bottle out?

Yes please! I think it's a shame that, for all our ancient Roman legacy, thier attitude towards criminals has been lost. I'm sure it could make much better television than football and reality TV. It would also serve as a REAL deterant to other, would be, Burlars and Muggers.

Our society has got MUCH too soft. We quite often hear such BS phrases as "much better that 100 criminals walk free than 1 innocent man is unfairly punished". But if you rework that, it actually means "much better that 100 innocent victims are subject to violent crimes than just the 1"

Another thing. Why is it that a speeding motorist will get a fine, (even for a first offence), yet a violent thug will get a "suspended sentance". No jail, and not even a fine. Why would it be so inappropriate to fine minor offenders? If it hasn't any deterant value, why fine motorists?

You must consider that when you take out the burglar, do it with a bludgeoning instrument so that you don't spill blood on your carpet, plus, it's easier to then turn the body round and say he was coming at you at the time.
Poor old Tony Martin's life was ruined cos he didn't kill them both.

I would still dearly love to smash the b***ard who burgled my girlfriends house last year taking her few personal possessions and changing her character and outlook for the rest of her life.

Don't let them survive, and then dump the b', not much chance of him having informed his next of kin as to his future whereabouts.

Take care all.

This Govn does the same all the time -- 'We are going to do this !!!' to be followed by 'Ah, well we couldn't actually' Unless it is screwing the generally orderly, on a slight discretion.

In one paragraph you have shown the type of person you are, There must be something wrong in a person's mind to want to torture another human being, I'm all for making a burglar serve a sentence but torture??! that's sick!
