My missus left a plastic sheet on our new lawn and the grass below it burned or dried out.

Made a good cricket pitch though :LOL:

Pee on it and it will grow like mad.

Urine "burns" grass, however, the grass at the outer perimeter of the pee spot will be greener than the rest of the lawn.

Believe it or not we used to import a supplement that used to stop dog pee leaving yellow spots on the lawn. The active ingredient was dl-Methionine, an amino acid that reduced the acidity of the dog's urine.

I don't believe it's burned. I think it just went yellow from lack of light.

I bet it's gone green again by now

If not, you can brush in a bit of whatever seed you used before, or leave it, and the surrounding grass will recolonise it.

Birds only eat seed they can see, so if you sprinkle on enough potting or seed compost to hide it, it will soon be up.
