Have a powermax combi boiler, think its a 155x model.
From yesterday evening, the timings kick in, and it all fires up but the burner light does not come on and therefore no central heating.
Reset the system the first time, and that seemed to work. but from this morning nothing, and same again this evening.
Have switched off from mains and reset everything three times. Also seems to be affecting hot water, as switching to continous hot water is not working either. no burner light on at all.
Typical is the coldest night of the year!!!

Have you checked your system pressure, as it will not work if not correct.
Pressure reading should be around 1 bar.
If fine suspect thermocouple or gas valve and call Corgi engineer :)

Hi there,

The same thing has happened with my Powermax 155 boiler and the flat is freeezing! Also, can't seem to get an engineer who will touch a Powermax. V. frustrating.

My problem is that the burner won't light and there is no pressure (0 bar) on the pressure guage. So no hot water, no CH, nothing. Have tried resetting but everytime I switch the boiler on, the pilot light (I imagine..) tries to light but won't.

I have also noticed an ever so small drip of water from a tap near the ceiling of the cupboard that stores the heater....

Does
a) anyone know what to do?

b) anyone know an engineer in the Reading/Bracknell area who would be prepared to come and help out?

Thanks
