Buzzing solenoid

Can anyone throw some light on a buzzing solenoid on a Glowworm spacesaver kfb 40 gas valve, SIT830 tandem. It works ok but for the first five or ten minutes there is a loud buzzing from the solenoid then it fades a bit. It seems to be a resonance. Can anyone suggest a cause or solution? and if left will it be likely to deteriorate?

Yes, replace the solenoid.

do you mean the coil, or the part of the gas valve the coil mounts onto, or both......I've only managed to source it as a complete valve so far at £250!

It's a corgi job cos you can't test it, and a corgi won't have any trouble getting a coil.

sorry your right it's an integral tandem solenoid sit gas valve gc part no 313-300, mf part no. 800165. Corgi job only of course.

see that pozidrive screw on top of the bracket holding the 2 solenoids in place? wait until it starts to buzz and then crack that screw back a tiny bit.
