Glow-Worm Betacom 24c. Installed 3 years ago. 10mm microbore. Regularly serviced.
Work fine until recently. Now the hot water & the radiators are not getting anywhere near hot enough, despite being on constantly. The temp setting dials on the front of the boiler are set just shy of max. Room stat at max.
Hot bath tap was ran very slowly, and it triggered Fault LED 80c indicating the overheat thermostat. I followed the reset instructions several times without success. Left it overnight and it reset at first attempt next morning. Worked but not hot enough.
A few weeks later the boiler stopped working again. The engineer replaced the fan, and it's working again, but again at nowhere near a hot enough temp for both water & c/h.
Strangely, the lower down you hold the showerhead, the warmer the water becomes, and when it's returned to the wall bracket high up, it cools again.
I've also noticed that when you first put the c/h on, the boiler temperature climbs to it max within about 2-3 mins then the stat switches it off. However, while the c/h flow pipe is very hot, the return is hardly luke warm.
Would be grateful for any thoughts you might have.
Thanks in advance,
Gary
