Hi All

Yesterday, my wife switched on the ceiling lights in the lounge, but the light bulb blew and tripped out the circuit breaker on the main fuse panel. Bulb has been replaced and the circuit breaker reset, and lights now work fine.

However, since then the C&K alarm has failed to work. The "mains" light is no longer lit on the keypad, but the keys do emit a beep and light up when pressed.

I have checked the 5A spur fuse next to the metal panel, but this appears to be fine.

Is there anything I can check inside the panel box to see why the keypad is reporting no mains?

I also believe that it still running on the original backup battery. Will I need to replace this too?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

It sounds like a voltage spike has upset the processor.

Has the code gone back to the factory setting of 1234? Or was it 0123?

If you can't get any sense out of it you will have to check the fuses in the metal panel.

If they are OK then the panel has crashed.

Remove mains at the spur.

Remove battery.

Wait a few seconds and reconnect battery.

Enter 1234 and it should be back to normal.

Your panel requires a new battery. Everything will return to normal once you've changed it...

Thanks for the replies.

This morning I opened the panel and simply disconnected the battery, and reconnected a few minutes later.

Once the battery was reconnected, the alarm started to sound. I just entered my original code to disable it.

It's been working fine since.

Cheers again

it`s working but its not " right.." - dont forget to source a new battery

Yes I have the same system and had the same problem. The real issue is that if you have a power cut then the alarm will go inactive. As others have said you need to replace the battery.
