Ah, well, there's always a probability density function that.... oh never mind.I'm going to spend the rest of my day pondering on what exactly is "quantum tunnelling" in reference to a virus.

Oh chuffing deary me. How on your God's earth did we ever win 2 world wars?Quantum tunnelling in the context of SARS-CoV-2 infection - Scientific Reports
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has added new urgency to the study of viral mechanisms of infection. But while vaccines offer a measure of protection against this specific outbreak, a new era of pandemics has been predicted. In addition to this, COVID-19 has drawn attention to post-viral syndromes and...www.nature.com
INteresting article, thanks. I'd seen effects proposed wrt GPCRs for a few years, but not all that.Quantum tunnelling in the context of SARS-CoV-2 infection - Scientific Reports

Lets cut it down to the bone shall we. Quantum tunnelling by a virus is up there with the greats, like 'particle numasisis' & 'photon neuropophy' & anyone who is involved in such subjects on DiyNot must surely be a genius.INteresting article, thanks. I'd like to see their proposal for the Hamiltonian for getting a virus through a wall, though. My comment was, I'd have thought obviously, tongue in cheek.
Quantum effects are quite literally everywhere, which we're fumbling still(afaik) to understand. Photosynthesis is perhaps the most famous, but don't forget sight, or migrations, or um, reproduction.
It's "its children", not "it's children", some people manage to understand more things than others. Effort, mostly.Lets cut it down to the bone shall we. I have PM'd Justin with a request that I be the one selected to bear it's children.
Boffins, quite significantly. Bletchley Park, Radar, computation of elliptic functions for unheard-of things, and on and on. Bright people working out how stuff works. The Krauts were pretty good too, it must be said.Oh chuffing deary me. How on your God's earth did we ever win 2 world wars?
