I am getting a Hydro connection about 70metres away from my new house.I need to run a cable from the Hydro box to feed my house which is a standard 4-bedroom bungalow (oil heating but has sauna).I was wondering if a 35mm cable would be ample.
Do you plan to bury the cable?
Have you discussed the type of earthing arrangement that your supplier may or indeed may not supply? Is it going to be TT TNS or TNCS. This will determine your cable selection.
The volt drop on a run that long is in the order of 1% for a 100amp supply. That is fine........but have you calculated what the maximum demand is likely to be for the house? This really needs the attention of 1 of the expert posters on this site and more info will help your cause.
