Hi, i'm just checking if the cable and breakers in my house are the correct size. Is 6mm t/e sufficient for my cooker from a 32A mcb running through 45A switch. Also from my consumer unit there is 6mm cable again through 32A mcb running into the garage consumer unit (16A & 6A MCB's). Are these safe (i've just moved in) or do i need to arrange for any of it to be upgraded.
ps. both are running about 8 - 10m from the main consumer unit to rear of the house.

Thanks

If you're unsure, ask an electrician to do a PIR. Expect to pay about £130 for half a day (tops) work.

Or post some photos here and we'll take a look for you. a picture paints a thousand words about the quality of electrical installation. ;)

Every thing look a good tidy and professional job (sorry i dont have a digi camera) i was just wondering if the canle rating and mcb selection was of sufficient size?

Yes, they sound ok.

6mm is good for about 45 amps in optimum conditions.
