Cables for showers

I want to upgrade from 8.5 to 9.5 kw shower.

Currently have 6mm cable running in a roof void for 6m and in conduit for 4m.

Do I need to upgrade the cable to 10mm ?

It would be a wise move. Sounds like it wouldn't be a hard job too. Notifiable to LABC though. 6mm² would be at its limit. 10mm² would leave room for future expansion.
