Hi,

Quick question:
When it come's to first fixing or installing either lighting cables or socket or anything other cables into polystyrene insulation what do you guys do?

The regs state not to let the cable have direct contact with polystyrene insulation due to the reaction.

Many Thanks

MIKE

conduit and make sure its not completely surrounded by insulation

bare copper pyro is another possibility thinner than conduit but fairly pricey and hard to terminate

metal but not plastic? as its still the same stuff that will react.

what about in stood walls in the middle?

Cheers

No - it's not the same plastic.

What about them? If they have polystyrene insulation then the same rules apply.

Is this the insulation the looks like polystrene and has a silver foil backing?

I ask this as my house is practically made of the stuff and all the cables runn through it!

If i know asap i can get the builders on it.
