What a total waste. Stores are being told to remove from sale and destroy thousands, maybe millions, of products. :( All because "this product may contain nuts" has been left off. There must be another way. Why cant stores send the products back to Cadbury for repackaging? Why cant Cadbury send stickers to stores?

Part of the problem is that the distribution chain is non-reversable - not without a struggle, anyway. :(

Its disgusting, it makes me feel sick throwing perfectly good food in the bin, and in an age when we are trying to reduce waste. :(

agreed terrible waste, whilst on the subject of product recalls Lynx deoderant has disappeared off major supermarket shelves under the guise of "due to repackaging" wonder how many started to get rashes after the formula changed with the previous repackaging? something fishy afoot?

Lynx is still on our shelves. Perhaps that supermarket you visited was just out of stock, passing the buck.

Crafty, I have a feeling that you are feeling obese and nauseous after "tidying the bins".

No, that was last night, when I had 3 pints, pork scratchings and a bag of mccoys at the pub, then called at the Chinese takeaway on the way home. (The chippy was shut  ) I felt a right fat bloater.

Its just another example of modern society. Whats going to happen to all these now? Surely it would be more cost effective to pay someone a basic wage to go and stick stickers on, I suppose a big F off poster saying "warning, these eggs might contain 0.00001 micrograms of nuts per tonne, so if you are alergic to nots dont eat more than a million per day" wouldnt comply to Euro standard 665429 part D subsection 871 paragraph 67a.

yeah perhaps but they did say recalled due to repackaging?

Do I grow what? eggs? Cant say as I recall ever growing an egg. Got a lump on my head once that looked like an egg if that counts as growing one.

As a severe nut allergy sufferer, i would tend to avoid all foods that were not 100% nut free just in case. Such "warnings" are just a get out clause nowadays for these companies so they dont get sued if some dimwit eats summit they shouldnt.
