Anybody here build control panels or distribution boards?
dont know if they still do it i used to order mine from RS componentsI'm after someone to make me some terminated lengths of tri-rated cables for use in a CU I'm building....
Not for free, BTW.
Why tri-rated?
Well I was thinking 25mm², in case I ever ended up with a 100A supply. The only thing that puzzles me is that I'm pretty sure that the cables you get in normal CUs with 100A incomers are only 16mm², but I can't see how they can carry 100A at 70°.
Happy to be proven wrong and go for 16mm² though.
Brown & blue, or red & black - I'm not bothered
Tri-rated is actually OK up to 105°, but the principle is the same..For the sake of discussion let's assume the tri-rated cable has a full load operating temperature of 90° C.
A tad tricky to guarantee within the confines of a CU/DB...So this appears to mean that a 16mm² cable running at 90° C would be ok provided that no cables rated at a lower temperature are allowed to touch it
I'll let you know when I've written them. Any suggestions?I wonder what the DB installation instructions say
