Camping In High Winds!

Went to a rugby tournament at the weekend with little 'un in Oswestry.

Not forecast, but the wind whipped up on Saturday night. By 0730, half our tent was down...

We were forced to strike at 0900, as the wind had all but flattened it.

The guys in the next field lost their mess tent & contents & several gazebos got uprooted and could be seen several fields away.

Even a professionally pitched marquee built from scaffold and held down with steel rods sledge-hammered into the ground & strapped down with ratcheted webbing got brought down.

Now I hear the winds have come North & are howling round Stockport as I write!

I drove back from Wigan on Sunday and the wind on the M6 was literally blowing the cars and lorries all over the place. Me knuckles were white, gripping the steering wheel.

I was painting a garage door in it today- bluddy paint was flying off the end of me brush

yeah it messed my hair up aswell.

Hang on...I had me tent blown down, JJ had a white knuckle ride on the M6, squeaky had severe trouble decorating and you...

had your hair messed up??
