Hi everyone...
Apparently, the square downpipe that's attached to my house has been put on backwards, Could this cause problems like damp and mould in the house? Or cause any other problems?

Thanks in advance...

If you mean the fittings are the wrong way then you will likely get some water escape the pipe.

Most mould Is caused by life style within the building

Ok, well 1st of all... Theres no need for the ! I only asked as I haven't a clue and sadly, the man who came to inspect the house from my housing association - has lied about almost everything on the report, that I had to ask for 5 times. Thank you for the answer though.

datarbel.... The wrong way as in put in upside down?

When I had to fight for four years with my HO about the damp - I'd av agreed with you about life style within the house but after living with it for all that time... I learned the do's and dont's. Finally after having so much work done to the house to sort out ( new roof, old insulation out then new in, new windows with the trickle thingy on and always open, extractor fans everywhere etc, everyone is surprised by the mould and damp reappearing so quickly and how much it's spread..

As you're a tenant you will know of the rights and obligations of the landlord HA and you in terms of repairs and the house condition under Landlord and Tenant law. But there are other options for action under Statutory Nuisance, HHSRS and the new Homes Fitness legislation.

Yes damp and mould is usually blamed on the tenant, and if the cause is penetrating damp then that's the landlord's responsibility. But what HA inspectors won't tell you is that if the damp is caused by the building in any way, by its design or construction, and you can't do anything to stop any mould or internal dampness, then that's also the landlord's responsibility.

If you want to post the problems or the report with personal info removed, you can get help with that.
