Am starting to look at replacing old boiler. This will be done by a gas safe engineer when done.

Starting to look at possible locations. One good location is the airing cupboard. This would need a vertical flue into loft.

My question is can that flue then bend to be horizontal, travel across the loft space approximately 3 meters and exit via the gabble end or would it have to remain vertical and exit via roof?

Reason for asking is access to roof is difficult due to conservatory.

Thank you you for your wisdom

Yes, this should be ok, but it wouldn’t be a vertical to horizontal flue, as some boilers have different flue connections if they’re vertical compared to horizontal. Engage with your gas engineer to ascertain what needs to be done, and if it’s possible. Hope this makes some sense.
