We have a dining room floor that is concrete and lower than the kitchen floor. We want to raise it with joists, board over, and lay insulation under the new floor. Is this possible or has there got to be airflow?
if you lay the joists internally , lay so that they dont touch any external walls ( leave off 25mm ) , i dont see any reason why you would need airflrow, you should not have damp in the house .. i would lay the joists on a dpm ( just to make sure ) or dpc , like brick layers use , and make sure your joists are dry before covering... hope this helps ..cheers les
